This chamber music concert presents a diverse program showcasing compositions by Cypriot composers, alongside established works by European composers that have become an integral part of the international clarinet repertoire.

George Georgiou and Annini Tsiouti have performed as a chamber music duo since 2012. Their extensive concert engagements across Cyprus, Malta, Jordan, Greece, and other countries have included fist performances of contemporary works for clarinet and piano, or bass clarinet and piano. These compositions, penned by both Cypriot and international composers, reflect a broad spectrum of aesthetic approaches, and confirm both musicians’ engagement with and commitment to contemporary music.

This concert will feature the world premieres of two pieces specially composed for and dedicated to George Georgiou: “Ballade” by Artemis Aifotiti and “Pastorale, Allegro and Tsifteteli” by Christodoulos Georgiades.

The selection of works prioritizes diversity in both style and technique. These compositions serve as an articulate expression and profound reflection of the contemporary artistic, and specifically musical, inquiry and creative output that has been flourishing in Cyprus since the year 2000.

The event is carried out within the framework of the Programme “Events at Embassies of the Republic of Cyprus abroad”, in the context of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026.
