Performance

The musical journey will be based on musical works by Evagoras Karageorgis with songs set to poetry by Cypriot poets, songs by other significant Cypriot composers, and arrangements of traditional music. 

The traditional pieces will be presented enriched with contemporary elements, the compositions by Evagoras Karageorgis will be based on the poetry of Vassilis Michaelides, Dimitris Lipertis, Costas Montis, Kyriakos Akathiotis, Michael Pasiardis, and Michael Pieris, while songs by other composers such as Achilleas Lymbouridis, Michalis Christodoulides, Sotiris Karageorgis, and Vassos Argyrides will also be heard. 

The musical ensemble Myrothkies tou yiasemiou, through this musical journey, will bridge the old with the new, the past with the future, projecting a musical portrait of Cyprus, highlighting the character and virtues of our people for love and prosperity, as well as the shared values with the European Union of peace, solidarity, fraternity, freedom, well-being, justice, and social cohesion.
